Solving the Problem

In the earlier exercises a problem that I reported was the lack of scooter and car parking and how some sort of device or application should be developed to relieve us of this difficulty. I believe a solution to this would be an app that when accessed, gives you an update of how the parking situation is in a given region is. This could save many drivers time as they don't have to franticly look for a parking spot while they could be in a hurry. It could lead to reckless driving and unnecessary accidents. I believe this product could also help college students across the country who drives scooters and have difficulties finding space for theirs as well. It could tell you the most open and available parking areas close to you. I believe the app could be a success. Students and drivers alike must be committed to the success of the app and updates regularly but i believe this is an overcome able obstacle.

  1. Hi Mark,

After reading your original hypothesis and now the solution that you have provided, I see that this opportunity and the solution seem very tied to campus life and the issues that could surround someone who lives on a campus like UF. My only recommendation would be to maybe see how the idea can expand further into something beyond that niche.

  2. Hi Mark! I really like how well you thought through solving the problem. Developing an app that shows what is available would be a great idea and solution to the opportunity. I think that this is something that really has potential for the University of Florida campus to provide more access and less stress to drivers knowing that spots would be open before driving to their designated location.

  3. Hi Mark,

I love this solution because it would really save us a lot of time since the lack of parking at the University of Florida is very much needed due to the large population of students. In my case it would be fantastic to have that application where I could verify if there is a free parking lot because I live 30 minutes from UF and sometimes it takes me a long time to go to different parking lots to see if finally a space. Great idea!

  4. Hey Mark,

I like the idea of the app a lot. It could save us students lots of time when looking for parking, not only that if we check the app and see no parking available we could just decide to take the bus or seek an alternative option. The only problem I see is it would probably be expensive to implement because it would require the installation of sensors to detect if a car is parked, but maybe there is a cheaper alternative that could work.
