11A Idea Napkin #1
1. You:
My name is Mark Candela and I am an undergraduate senior at the University of Florida. I believe that my product could be very successful in todays day and age. Having attended a community college before transferring to the university, I have seen the difficulties of finding parking spots in numerous areas around the country. Growing up as the son of an entrepreneur, I have seen firsthand the hard work and dedication it takes to be successful in the field. I am a very social creature and through my interviews and throughout common conversations, I know that many individuals both young and old would love the product as well.
2. What are you offering to customers:
Essentially, I am offering a product that is an application typically found on smartphones. This application would notify drivers of both scooters and cars of newly available parking spots for one's vehicle. An individual would only have to log in and the app using location services would be able to notify you of open spots when someone else vacates them.
3. Who are you offering it to:
In reality my product is for everybody! Anyone who owns a car or scooter understands how stressful and often times difficult finding available and easy parking for their vehicle, especially if they are in a hurry or a rush. It only adds to the tension. I believe that my product would be utilized by both elder demographics as well as more tech-savy younger peoples.
4. Why do they care:
I think that the pubic would care about the product because it is very simple to use and learn! Often times people are hesitant to utilize a feature that could simplify their lives solely because they don't want to bother putting in the effort to learn how it works. But this product is extremely simple and only takes 2 taps of a button. I think it make people's lives easier and there is no reason to oppose it.
5. What are your core competencies:
At my core, I believe that everyone is entitled to as much of a stress free and simplistic life as possible to each specific individual. My product continues these beliefs as at its core its aim is to make the lives of its users easier. Being notified of available parking makes it significantly easier to find spots that are more appealing than circling around a lot like a shark looking for any spot. The product brings the parking to you.
I believe that all the components of my product work very well with one another in complete symmetry. No component of my product brings trouble or questions any other components. As long as the user of the product is semi-familiar with the machine they are accessing my application through, then utilizing the product should be a piece of cake.

Hi Mark! I like how you closed with saying that “the product brings parking to you.” I think that you described your idea very well, and have the right target audience in mind while developing it. I also attended a community college before coming to The University of Florida and the parking situation there was much different than it is here. Using this app would allow for people to not be as stressed driving!
ReplyDeleteHi Mark,
ReplyDeleteI thought your assignment was very well written and logically thought out in a way that was super clear to the reader. I really enjoyed your explanation and in depth look that you gave us in number 5. I think this assignment gave your idea that much more great structure and it is something that I can see coming full circle,
Keep it up!
